Today I challenged Martin of @The Homebrew Challenge to a mystery brew box. We each sent a box with three unknown ingredients that we have to brew a holiday inspired beer with. I attempt to make a Buttered Rum inspired British Strong ale with a wild ingredient twist.

Recipe for 2.5 gals (~9.5L):
-3.5 gals (13.2L) Water
(adjust salt additions based on your water)
-Gypsum, Calcium Chloride, Epsom Salt, Baking Soda, Salt

-8% English Brown Malt [8 oz]
-8% Molasses [8 oz]

– 0.5oz (~14g) Magnum @30 min
– 1oz (~28g) Tettnange @ 10 min
Molasses at Flameout

-SafAle s-04 English Ale Yeast

Mash @ 152ºF (~66.7ºC) for about 45 mins
Boil for 30 mins

Ferment around 67ºF (~19C) for 14 Days

Infuse Special Ingredient in Spiced Rum for 7+ Days

Final Gravity: 1.012
ABV: 7.6%
