Northern Brewer proudly presents coffee beer recipe kits featuring the Blue Collar Blend from Bootstrap Coffee Roasters in Saint Paul, Minnesota. As part of our collaboration with Bootstrap, we visited the roastery and shot this video when they were roasting a small batch of coffee for their subscription program. We learned a lot about the coffee roasting process from head roaster Marco Carrera, who – as luck would have it – is also a homebrewer. In this video Marco describes the stages of the roasting process, and talks a bit about how similar coffee and beer are when it comes to raw materials and the final product.
