What’s a switchel? It’s a refreshing, fermented health drink that is hydrating and energizing. In this video I show a variation of a switchel where I ferment it with a ginger bug left over from my ginger beer video and then I flavor it with berries and fresh basil. This switchel recipe is so easy to make and tastes so good, you have to try this easy fermentation out!

RECIPE for 1/2 Gal (1.9L):
250ml (~1 cup) Water
-10g Chopped Ginger
-10g Sugar

Repeat feedings daily until ginger bug begins to foam
-1/2 Gal (1.9L) Water
100g Ginger Bug Liquid
-30g Ginger
-30g Sugar (or maple syrup/brown sugar/molasses)
200g Berries (frozen strawberries and raspberries)
10g Fresh Basil
Ferment @ ~69ºF (20.5ºC) for 1-2 days
Chill in Fridge
